Whether you are looking to start a new project that involves concrete or you need your existing concrete repaired, you will benefit from hiring a professional concrete contractor. A professional has the skill and experience to complete the project on time, on budget and to avoid any issues during the project as well as after. Before you hire an individual to do the work, be sure to ask the appropriate questions so that you feel at ease with the individual you hire for the concrete project.

Do you offer a warranty?

Most contractors will be willing to provide a warranty for their work, usually up to one year. If there is no warranty offered, then it is recommended that you work with someone else. You want to be covered in the event that something happens after the installation. For any warranty, be sure to learn all the details so that you know what you will be receiving.

What will happen if a sudden storm rains on the concrete?

Your contractor should be prepared if a rain storm or bad weather takes place during the project. Any damage caused by weather should be covered by the contractor. Be willing to work with the contractor so that you can have your project completed another day when bad weather occurs.

How Long Will the Job Take?

Contractors should be able to provide you with an estimate as to how long a project will take to complete based on what you are hoping to accomplish. If the contractor is not forthcoming with such information then they may not be as hardworking or willing to work when scheduled.

When Can You Start?

In most cases, a good contractor of concrete will be booked up, at least for a few weeks. If your contractor does have space in the next week, find out why. It could be that a job was canceled or his business could be new. It might also be a slow work time. If the individual begins to be defensive about the subject, then it is best to look elsewhere for assistance.

Ask for Photos of Previous Work

Never hesitate to see pictures of previous jobs to get an idea of what type of work you can expect. Most contractors will keep a portfolio and with social media so prevalent today, it is not uncommon for a business to have an Instagram or Facebook page. The company should readily provide you with this information so that you can see what you are getting into.

How Will My Yard or Home Appear Once Work Is Completed?

This is a big question that should not be forgotten. It is not uncommon for contractors to leave a mess, destroying the yard after a small job or leaving materials behind. You want to be sure that are will be neat and tidy once the job is completed. Find out if all materials will be removed and messes cleaned up once the job is finished.

Never hesitate to ask any questions of a concrete contractor. You are hiring them for a service and should feel comfortable with the individual before hiring them to do the work.
